An iPhone X has obviously exploded during an update to Apple's latest operating system, iOS 12.1.
The Gadgets 360 report is based on a tweet of Rocky Mohamedali, who says that his iPhone X exploded while it was connected to an official Apple charger.
He tweeted: "iPhone X just got hot and exploded in the upgrade to 12.1 iOS. What's up here ???"
Apple responded to the tweet with a comically obvious statement.
It said: "It's definitely not expected behavior. DM us so we can watch this with you."
Speaking to Gadgets 360, Mohamedali said: "This year in early January, I bought iPhone and have used it normally.
"Dark gray smoke started coming from the phone. The update was completed and as soon as the phone started, it started to smoke and burned."
It is unclear what caused the iPhone to explode, or what Apple has done to solve the problem.
