The motorcyclist killed by car claims to travel in the wrong direction called



A motorcycle who died after a crash with a car allegedly going in the wrong direction has gotten the name of the police.

Allan Nicholson, 24, was thrown from his red Suzuki motorcycle after the collision with a white Ford Mondeo.

The police said that traveling south on the north west carriageway on the A725 East Kilbride motorway.

Emergency Services participated and Nicholson was pronounced dead at the site.

The 34-year-old man who drove the car was treated for minor damage to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride.

The police said that he later accused of the incident and expired before the Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday.

Officers appeal to information about the crash that occurred around 6.45 pm on Saturday about half a mile south of the Raith Exchange.

Chief Inspector Darren Faulds of Road Policing appealed for information from someone who witnessed the crash or saw the vehicle in advance.

He said, "I would also ask some car drivers with dash cams who were on the way around the incident to check their photographs if they have captured all that might be of importance to the investigation.

"Those who have information are invited to contact Divisional Road Policing Unit, based on Motherwell via 101, quoting event number 0927 from Saturday, November 10, 2018."
