In Moscow, more than 100 charging stations are installed for electric cars. This was told by Deputy Head of Transport Department Dmitry Pronin, RIA Novosti reports.
"If there is activity in the automotive industry, in taxis, which will start buying electric cars, they can safely use the existing infrastructure," said the official.
Pronin, reported by the Moscow agency, also expressed confidence that the popularity of the electric car among the capital's inhabitants will only grow. "Especially since the city has already given preference to free parking in the central part," he recalled.
In 2017, the government authorities in Moscow gave a few privileges, wrote Business FM radio station. So in the middle of the city appeared several free parking spaces for electric transport, ordinary cars can not park there. They are located on seven streets near the charging stations: in Glinishchevsky and Bolshoi Nikolovorobinsky lanes, as well as Malaya Dmitrovka, Bolshaya Bronnaya, Bakhrushina, Ostozhenka and Krasnaya Presnya streets.
According to Avtostat, in January 2018 there were 404 electric cars in the Moscow region. There are seven models of electric cars in Russia, two of them – Tesla Model S and Model X.
