Premiere: The cult car also drives the richest Slovenes #photo

Porsche is the eighth generation of 911 sports car. It gives the development of design, the more powerful and more efficient engines and systems that lead the icon to a new era. In Germany there will be at least 120 thousand, in Slovenia it will be more expensive.

In the eighth generation, the new Porsche 911 remains a faithful tradition of seven predecessors. The car, dating back to 1963, has changed slightly over the past 55 years. Therefore, the latest Stuttgart product represents the development of one of the most famous car shapes, providing modern technology and some new assistance systems.

At the front, the car is now 4.5 centimeters wide, and behind it it will be as wide regardless of the version of the car.

More muscular, behind the line of light

Outward, he became something more muscular. In Porsche, they say they were inspired by the previous turbine-charged 911 engine. At the front, the car is now 4.5 centimeters wide, and behind it it will be as wide regardless of the version of the car. The light goes out on the back of the car across the width of the car. 911 has wheels in different sizes on the front (20 inches) and rear axle (21 inches).

Engine power from 450 horses ahead

At the rear of the car, the Carrera S hides a three-way double-turbo six-cylinder boxer engine, which basically has 331 kilowatts (450 horses). Compared with the previous generation of the same model, this is 22 extra kilowatt (30 horses). Up to 100 kilometers per hour requires a car less than four seconds and the maximum speed exceeds 300 kilometers per hour. The car is also available with four-wheel drive. Carrera S will only be equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox PDK.

911 also looks for the first time at night

Technically, there is more digitalization in the interior, already used in Porsche from the new panama. New is an assisted wet road system. Through the sensor in the mudguards, the car controls the amount of water on the road, warns the driver and adjusts the power distribution or driver's program. This also includes raising the spoiler to achieve a larger vacuum, ie adhesion to the road.

At 911, the news is also a night vision technology that controls the surroundings of the infrared camera at night and warns the driver of the risk of collision with pedestrians or wildlife. Radar ship control with stop-go is also worth marking.

In Germany, the new porsche 911 will cost 120 thousand euros, and version 4S from 127 thousand euros onwards. Slovenian prices will surely be higher (higher VAT, "luxury" tax …).

The basic power of the porsche 911 carrera S is 331 kilowatts (450 horses). Acceleration up to 100 kilometers per hour in less than four seconds, speed over 300 kilometers per hour.

In the last three years there are 33 porches of 911 in Slovenia

In Slovenia, according to official statistics, Porsche sold eight of the 911 models last year, and last year eleven. This year they sold fourteen at the end of October. In Slovenia, these cars may be much more expensive due to the additional tax (so-called luxury tax) than in some other countries in Europe. The cheapest porsche 911 carrera in Slovenia amounted to 117,000 euros, and the top of the offer is currently the 911 GT2 RS model.

The Slovenian importer for this sports car (the power of the engine is as much as 515 kilowatt or 700 "horses") has not been published. In Italy, prices start at about 300,000. It is this year with such a car on Slovenian roads (and the Croatian race track Grobnik) also presented Samo Login, one of the richest Slovenian.

Seven generations of porsche 911

In 1963, the successor of the sport shook 356 sports machines with an air-cooled six-cylinder rear-wheel drive and a silhouette still recognized today by almost all the people on Earth. Already in the first generation, Porsche prepared a version of Targa, prepared a sports version of S a few years after the launch, and especially for the US market prepared the weakest T series. The first generation reached the peak when the brutal RS model was launched. The factory left 1,525 models of 911 RS, together they made 111,995 cars between 1963 and 1973.

The second generation is defined by the internal designation G. If the Germans maintained the first-generation life for ten years, it was official second-generation production for sixteen years (1973-1989). Convertible and Speedster complements this list of variants. In 1974 he drove Turbo for the first time on the road and changed the world of sports car. In total, Porsche sold 198,496 cars during this period.

The third generation has internal code 964 and was manufactured between 1988 and 1994. It was decorated with classic traditional look with some modern design elements. The 911 carrera 4 was hired with a four-wheel drive on the amazing sport 959, and in 1989, carrera 2 drove the cabriolet and targa on the road. In 1993, they produced the 930 speeders (+15 turbo look) and mounted the turbo version with the strongest, highly charged 3.6-liter engine. A total of 63 762 cars were sold.

The fourth generation of 993 was in production for only five years (1993-1998), but it is considered a crown jewel of the brand. This is the latest series of integrated air-cooled engines. Porsche also contained verified formulas here. Initially the coupe and the convertible were available, and in 1995 it was still targa. In addition to rear-wheel drive, four-wheel carrera 4S was also available. For sports enthusiasts, 911 turbo was available, and today the 911 GT2 is valid for one of the automotive jewels that collects garage collectors. A total of 68,881 cars were produced.

The absolute most unpopular is the 996 series, which was produced between 1997 and 2005. With another external form and for the first time with water-cooled engines, they did not find a common language with brand fans. They especially appreciated the extremely fast version of the turbo and rare version of GT2. During the eight years they produced 175,262 cars.

The 997 series was produced between 2004 and 2012. They have visually returned to the original design and extended model range to 24 versions. There were coupe, targa, cabriolet, speedster, rear or four-wheel drive, conventional or wider bodywork, atmospheric or powerful six-cylinder, sports versions GTS, GT2, GT2 RS, GT3 and GT3 RS. The number of different options and modernization of the model resulted in higher production figures – they produced 213,004 cars.

The present seventh generation with the Code 991 has already said goodbye, replaced by the new eighth generation of the cult model. 991 started production in 2011 and immediately found many new sympathies. The most beautiful model in this millennium has become modern and widely used. The number of variants has grown even bigger and the sales figures have undermined all the recordings – they produced 217,930 cars. From 1963 to October 2018 1,049,330 cars were produced together.
