Volkswagen wants another car manufacturer in Eastern Europe

Prague. Volkswagen will move the production of Passat family cars to its daughter, Skoda Auto in Kvasiny, in 2023. The Skoda Superb and Kodiaq models will also be produced there.

In Kvasiny, the models Škoda Karoq and Seat Ateca are now fitted. Their production will be moved to the new factory in the group, which should be built somewhere in Eastern Europe. His exact location has not yet been decided.

Czech TV news Channel 24 reported that this information was published by the chairman of the Volkswagen Board Herbert Diess on Friday at a press conference. The transition goal is to speed up innovation.

Volkswagen expects to invest almost 44 billion euros in the development of electric cars, digitization and other new technologies since 2023.
