SINGAPORE: Four people believed to be involved in a foreign crime syndicate have been arrested for dumping S $ 30,000 of goods, including clothing and accessories, police said on Tuesday, November 27.
Police received a report from a retailer along Smith Street on Monday and claimed that items had been stolen from the store.
After initial inquiries, officers from the Central Police Division identified the suspects and arrested them the same day. The suspects, two men and two women, are between 27 and 41 years old.
More than 1,000 items, including branded goods, were recovered and seized as fall shows. The items have an estimated total value of approximately S $ 30,000.
Preliminary investigations showed that the suspects believed to be part of a foreign crime syndicate and were involved in other similar cases across Singapore.
The four suspects will be charged in court on Wednesday with theft in the dwelling with shared intention and fraudulent possession with shared intention. If convicted, they face a maximum sentence of eight years imprisonment and a fine.
