Windows 1.0 is the first graphical interface for MS-DOS. Compared to today’s technology, Windows 1.0 does not look user-friendly at all, not even close, but then it was a real achievement.
When people talk about the beginning of Windows, usually refer to Windows 3.0 or 3.1. The two versions together sold more than 10 million copies and were much easier to use.
