Mail.ru Group asked Yandex to remove their projects from the ranking of the most popular sites

Mail.Ru Group asked Yandex to remove the projects associated with it from the valuation of the largest Yandex.Radar pages, RBC reports. The company believes that rating data will be biased, as Yandex itself is a player in the advertising market.

Mail.Ru Group required the data on their projects – Mail.Ru, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, games and others – to be removed from the grade. The company called the situation absurd, where "one of the largest players in the Russian advertising market measures this market." "The company's interest in this situation is too big – as if one of the TV channels was measured and published TV ratings," the company said.

According to Mail.Ru Group, Yandex.Radar will underestimate the audience for foreign players (Google, Facebook, AliExpress), Russian companies that do not set a measurement disk (Mail.Ru, Odnoklassniki, Vkontakte), but also other competitors of "Yandex".

On November 12, Yandex announced the launch of the Yandex.Radar project – a rating of the ten thousand most popular resources among Russian users. To create it, we used data from Metrics, AppMetrisa and other Yandex projects. They will show the values of attendance, audience share and average time users spend on the site. The tool can be used for business with advertising, audience data and others.
