VIDEO Samsung Electronics announced for the first time a long-awaited folding phone

South Korean electronics makers have launched a new technology for flexible mobile device monitors and announced that it is working with Google to develop it.

Folding phones promise to allow users to perform more complex tasks, usually made on tablets or laptops.

The goal of Wednesday's event was to get particularly important responses as developers will need to test new application technology to see that it works smoothly when the phone is in the form of a tablet.

Samsung is among the few companies that have announced that declining phones will soon be introduced to the market.

Although Samsung did not announce when it will release the new devices, analysts expect this to happen in the first half of 2019, otherwise it's likely that the new Apple phones will take it forward.

Dave Burke, Vice President of Technology for Android, confirmed this term at a conference organized separately from Google in California.

"We are working near Samsung with a new device that it plans to launch next year," Burke said.

The Chinese company Huawei Technologies also announced that it plans to launch a 5G smartphone with a collapsible screen in mid 2019.

Both Samsung and Huawei were outpaced by a Chinese screen maker, who introduced last week a folding phone with a screen of 7.8 inches at a cost of about $ 1,300. Royole has announced that it will start receiving orders by the end of December.

High prices can counteract an immediate high demand for these products, and some analysts doubt that there is a high demand for such phones.

Samsung did not offer price information on new phones on Wednesday.
