Chinese spacecraft are returning to Earth with moonstones, for the first time in 45 years

If the mission succeeds, it will make China the third country after the United States and the former Soviet Union to take moonstones to Earth.

According to the Chinese media, which quotes the National Space Administration of China, a container with two kilos of stones was transferred to the module.

A capsule containing the rock samples is expected to land in Inner Mongolia in the middle of this month.

These will be the first samples of the lunar surface that scientists have received since the Luna 24 probe from the Soviet Union in 1976.
