Save up to 60% battery on your mobile phone with these tricks

The camera with thousands of megapixels, speakers, fingerprint recognition, face, iris and ear. What do all of these things have in common? It's worthless if the mobile phone goes out of the battery.

Even though we have already made notes of recommendations for the battery to last longer, now a new option was revealed: put the screen in "dark mode". The trick is known for programmers, who often use black backgrounds to edit code and reduce visual effort. And even several applications offer it with the name "night mode".

But now the new AMOLED displays offer this "dark mode" which, in addition to being good for the eyes, allows win hours with battery.

An Android Developer Convention showed that, for example, when playing a video on YouTube, in fullscreen and 100% brightness, the team consumed 239 mAH. When he did it, but with the dark mode enabled, he spent 96 mAh.

The same test was done with the Google Maps application, in normal mode and in dark or night mode. Battery consumption dropped from 250 to 92 mAh.

What is the reason for this savings? On LCDs, lighting is a light that passes pixels to produce colors. but On the AMOLED screens, the pixels are individually lit.. Therefore, each pixel has a red light, a blue light and a green light: to display the black, the pixel completely interrupts the three lights; to show the white it all shines. For this reason, if the background is black, a larger number of pixels will remain suspended.

However, the extreme savings can not be so good. In the test, 100% brightness was used. With the brightness of half the savings are only 14%. It's something, but it's not that radical change.

The bottom line is included in version 9 of the Android operating system. In any case, this saving occurs in mobile phones that have AMOLED monitors. IPhone users can also try to consume less energy by enabling the Smart Colors inversion option in the configuration menu.
