The court accuses the motorist of inattention. Earlier, the Zeistenaar had already been convicted of driving too hard and driving a car under the influence.
The court initially demanded a sentence of eight months. The penalty is lower because the victim walked across the bus lane at the time of the collision. According to the court, in principle, the driver should have assumed that no one was walking, even if he had not been allowed to drive himself.
The judge today ruled that the man may not drive a car for three years.
