The paper reported that the highest-ranking members of the British royal family will reveal that they received the vaccination “to encourage more people to get the vital shot”, for fear that so-called anti-waxers will dampen enthusiasm for it.
The UK gave emergency approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine on Wednesday. Residents of nursing homes and their caregivers will be the first to be vaccinated, followed by over 80s and primary care staff. Other elderly and vulnerable people come next, and the rest of the population is prioritized based on age.
Buckingham Palace did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The UK has ordered a total of 40 million doses of the vaccine and is expected to receive a first batch of 800,000 doses to start vaccinating next week.
