One in three French people is sleeping badly, and there are ten million to take sleep pills. Studies show it: we do not sleep enough. Less than six hours for one third of the French while we need between seven and eight hours of sleep on average.

More worries are also affected by children and adolescents. This is due to the parents coming back late from work and delaying the sleep time of the children to benefit from them or because of the multiplication of screens in the teens, which disturbs the fall of sleep. Result: 1:30 to 2 hours of sleep for teens and half an hour for the youngest. On average, a four-year average needs 12 hours of sleep, 10 to 10 years and 8 to 18 years.

Is it serious not to sleep enough? According to Sylvie Royant-Parola, psychiatrist and president of the Morphée Network, which focuses on the management of sleep disorders, this can lead to significant consequences in everyday life: attention and learning disabilities in school, behavioral disorders: restless children, annoying teenagers, mood swings, in order not to talk about the risks of obesity or diabetes, as well as a reduction in the immune system. In short: it is imperative to avoid the lack of sleep resolving in duration.

So how? The Morphée Network has launched a website designed to sleep under the age of 18 with concrete solutions validated by a Scientific Committee and discussion forum. A rule to remember is the regularity of sleep rhythms. For the youngest children, it is necessary to put the children to bed at a certain time to avoid too exciting games in the evening and to think about creating a bedtime ritual to make the child safe. This ritual must be short, otherwise the child will feel that you do not want to leave him alone.

Teens will always try to push the limits, and thus the time to fall asleep. It is up to the parents to introduce a normal bedtime. And the weekend, no way to let your child sleep at noon. Two hours of sleep, no more, otherwise the biological clock will be drinking. And it's imperative to teach teens to relax the screens at least one hour before bedtime.
