OCP has also recently launched a circular economy program aimed at becoming a champion in the fertilizer industry in terms of the circular economy and conservation of resources. For example, the implementation of sulphate technology is a first in the fertilizer industry that enables the elimination of SO2 gas emissions, which through this process is converted to sulfuric acid reused in the production chain. OCP advocates conservation of resources and has implemented a water energy program that has been supported by European Green Financing, which aims to promote alternative clean energy and the use of unconventional water resources for its industrial needs. Thus, 35% of water consumption in the Group's industrial areas comes from decomposition and wastewater treatment, and the Group's production facilities are supplied with 75% pure energy.
