Since the start of 2010, TIBU Maroc has not stopped helping educate young people and promoting their empowerment, social inclusion and human development through basketball. For the NGO, it is therefore a special strategic feature of its action plan 2018-2021 to promote and popularize the orange ball among youth in rural areas and forms part of a real social project.
TIBU Morocco and Moroccan Games and Sports (MDJS) have thus agreed to continue their rich cooperation by maintaining their agreement to continue promoting basketball and its values throughout the nation and especially with the most vulnerable populations through projects. sports and education with great social impact such as the girls' empowerment through basketball, the integration of youth with reduced mobility through HandiBasket and the popularization of basketball practices in the countryside through the "Basket Für Douar" program.
This is confirmed by the second edition of TIBU Morocco's annual rural wagon "Basket Douglas City MDJS", which will meet 15,000 participants from rural municipalities in the Fes-Meknes region this year.
"We are proud to be able to follow the second edition of the Rural Caravan Basketball Douar and allow 15,000 young people to benefit from this program. MDJS is committed to the values of integration, solidarity and leadership, which explains our commitment to TIBU for more than six years. We are convinced that sport is a real leverage for development, cohesion and social integration, "said Rhita LAHLOU, Communications Manager for MDJS.
Thus, from 12 to 17 November 2018, a dozen douars from this region will be visited by the Fossil Douar caravan, a good opportunity for recipients to learn the basics (shooting, passing, dribbling) the orange ball, participating in leadership and capacity building workshops, as well as focus groups with their parents.
"With our historical partners, Moroccan games and sports, we are confident that the promotion, development and popularization of basketball in Douars, together with educational, cultural and social measures, will contribute to the physical and personal development of this disadvantaged youth at the social level "reminds Mohamed Amine Zariat, president of the TIBU Morocco association.
