In November, it is not only in Lithuania, but also throughout Europe, intended to prevent prostate cancer. This year, the three organizations have come together for the common goal of raising the issue of men talking even higher and involving as many citizens as possible in active prostate cancer care activities. One of the most important is the "Uava Runaway" last November event for men not only for men.
Prostate cancer in Europe is diagnosed at 450,000 today. men. The number of symptoms of prostate cancer diagnosed in Lithuania is up to 500. Early clusters do not show any clear symptoms, therefore, men are encouraged to perform a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test even when they feel good.
Pauls Rakštys, director of the Society for Treatment of Prostate Cancer, believes that prostate cancer is diagnosed more and more at a younger age, and therefore not only older men should be concerned about their health.
"Earlier due to this disease, it was necessary to check at the age of 50. Today, prostate cancer research should be done over 40 years. Especially for those whose family members have cancer, says P. Rakštys.
Every year in November, various activities are organized to encourage men to perform PSA tests, not be afraid to speak high about prostate cancer and to urge their health to care for their loved ones.
This year, three organizations – the Prostate Cancer Society, skinned November and the United States flee – combined forces to raise awareness of prostate cancer prevention this year.
The latter has organized the final bearded November event for the fourth consecutive year, which began with the friends and grew into an annual tradition of more than one hundred participants.
"In March, all marathons are over, people move less so we thought it was a good time to grow rabbits and mustache and spend the hour on the last Sunday of the month to run. The key thought is that if you can find time to come to event, you can spend an hour and a visit to the doctor the next day, says Modest Bacys, one of the organizers of Usa Running.
The interest in this event is increasing each year. This year's route is being prepared at the Botanical Garden at Vilnius University, where 25 November. It is estimated to attract as many as 500 participants. The initiative is sponsored by the pharmaceutical companies Ipsen and Sanofi.
Not only men, but also women and children are invited to the "Ufa Running" event. "We are waiting for anyone who can spread a message to prevent prostate cancer in their relatives. After all, women and children can urge their family to do research," says Bacys.
