First, researchers thought that this very unusual form of objects was simply a weird asteroid. Such a strange, very elongate form does not have a precedent of approximately 750 thousand. asteroids and comets in our solar system, where they formed.
The mentioned asteroid was noted in the Hawaiian telescope and is called Oumuamua, which means "messenger" on Hawaiian. The object is about 400 m long and only about 40 m wide. Some attributes, however, change the scientists and think that Oumuamua may not be an asteroid but a spacecraft from a civilization that lives in other parts of the world
This theory came to the researcher after it was noted that the mysterious object suddenly increased its speed and left the solar system in January this year, writes cnn.com.
"Given the artificial origin, one of Oumuamua's possibilities is an easy space-based advanced space technology," writes Astrophysical Journal Letters. Scientists believe that spacecraft can be powered by solar energy.
Astronomer Abraham Loeb at the University of Harvard is convinced that prototype-like spacecraft is already built on Earth.
Loeb believes with colleagues that Oumuamuas unusual course and the huge speed can mean that spacecraft is no longer used.
Oumuamua is the first object seen in the solar system, which is believed to be outside our planetary system.
"We were lucky enough to find our telescope in the right place at the right time to see this historic moment," said NASA's planetary defense officer Lindley Johnson.
