1.39% decrease in operating profit for KOSPI listed companies
We continue to report that companies' operating profit declined significantly in the third quarter of this year. There is news that KOSPI listed companies' operating profit decreased by 39% from a year ago. This is the biggest decline in eight years since 2011. The decline in semiconductors was great. At 3Q, Samsung Electronics's operating profit fell 57% and SK Hynix 85%.
2. The FTC launches Naver Sanction procedure
The Fair Trade Commission has sanctioned Naver, the country's largest portal website. Naver seems to have assessed abuse of market dominance. The audit report has been sent to NAVER, and upon receipt of it, NAVER must submit its comments to the FTC within three weeks or by extending the filing date.
3. Start applying for national scholarships for the first semester next year
The first application for national scholarships for the next semester begins today (19). Scholarships are awarded to students whose income meets certain criteria. The application is due on the evening of the 17th of next month.
