GAZA CITY / RAMALLAH, Palestine

Dozens of Palestinians were injured on Friday while attending ongoing meetings along the Gaza-Israel buffer zone, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health.

In a statement, spokesman Ashraf al-Qidra said that 40 protesters were injured – including three in critical condition – of Israeli troops used on the other side of the buffer zone.

Protesters demand the right to return to their homes in historic Palestine, from which they were run in 1948 to create space for the new state of Israel.

They also call for an end to Israel's 12-year blockade of the Gaza Strip, which has extinguished the shuttles economy and deprived its more than two million inhabitants of many basic goods.

Since the Gaza rally started on March 30, more than 210 Palestinians have been martyred – and thousands more injured – by Israeli army and tear gas.

In a related development, several Palestinians of Israeli troops were injured while participating in anti-emission demonstrations on the Occupied West Bank, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC).

In a statement, China said that three Palestinians had been wounded by rubber bullets while they participated in protests in the Ras Karkar village near Ramallah and the village of Kafr Qadum near the city of Tulkarm.

Dozens of other Palestinians suffered from inhalation of tear gas after spreading Israeli forces in the village of Bilin west of Bethlehem, adding China.

According to Palestinian figures, more than 700,000 Israeli Jews live in 196 settlements (built with the approval of the Israeli Government) and more than 200 settlers outposts (built without government) over the occupied West Bank.

International law regards the West Bank and East Jerusalem as "occupied territories" and regards all the Jewish settlements there as illegal.
