Palestinian minister injured during protests in West Bank

Ramallah, November 9 (PL) At least four Palestinians, including Minister Walid Assaf, were injured on Friday when Israeli forces suppressed the weekly rot in the village of Kafr Qaddum, on the north-occupied West Bank.

Assaf, the President of the Commission against the settlements and the wall, was hit by a rubberized steel bullet, the same happened with three other protesters. Several cases of choking by inhalation of tear gas were reported.

Almost every Friday, Palestinians organize protests in Cape Qaddum to demonstrate against the rise of Israeli settlements in Palestinian Territory.

All settlements in East Jerusalem and the West Bank are illegal in accordance with international law, in particular Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, which states that the occupying power must not expel or transfer parts of its own civilian population to the territory it occupies.

Dozens of Palestinians also protested on Friday in the Jabal al-Risan area, west of central central Ramallah district of the West Bank.

The protesters spoke against Israel's plan to confiscate hundreds of dunes (1000 square feet) in the Jabal al-Risan area. The protest was also suppressed by Israeli forces.
