BEIRUT, November 11 (Xinhua) – Lebanese Parliamentary President Nabih Berri said that the risk facing Lebanon is now economic, not military, because Israel does not dare to attack Lebanon, reported the National News Agency (NNA).
"Hezbollah, in addition to our national unity, will not allow Israel to launch any aggression against Lebanon," Berri told NNA as said.
If the situation remains unchanged, we will enter a dangerous zone, he added and suggested the delay in the government's formation.
The Lebanese speaker has on many occasions urged all political parties to compromise in an attempt to reach a consensus in government formation under economic deterioration.
Lebanon's public debt at the end of June amounted to $ 82.95 billion, from $ 76.5 billion a year ago, according to Byblos Bank's weekly financial publication.
Lebanon must implement major reforms to curb its public debt, including a review of the electricity sector costing more than $ 2 billion a year.
