Samsung will launch the Galaxy A9 (2018) – its first smartphone with quadrupled rear camera settings – in India this month, IANS reports in industry sources. The report adds that smartphone will be priced aggressively to take on the leader OnePlus 6T.
The IANS report also mentions that the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) is likely to be launched in two variants in the country – 6 GB of RAM / 128 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM / 128 GB of storage – both expandable up to 512 GB. To remember, a report last week, the Galaxy A9 (2018) prize dropped the price in India is likely to start from Rs. 39,000, referring to a source code on the Samsung India official website.
Samsung launched globally Galaxy A9 (2018) in Malaysia last month with a global price launch of 599 euros (approximately 51,300) and 549 GBP (approximately 53,700). It will be available from November in Bubblegum Pink, Caviar Black and Lemonade Blue color variants, with the first and last with a slope pattern.

The dual SIM (Nano) Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) runs Android 8.0 Oreo and has a 6.3-inch Full HD + (1080×2220 pixel) Infinity Display with an 18.5: 9 aspect ratio and Super AMOLED panel. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC, with four cores clocked at 2.2 GHz and four cores clocked at 1.8 GHz. This is connected to either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) features a four-way camera backwards with a 24-megapixel primary camera with a f / 1.7 mixer, a 10 megapixel telecamera with 2x optical zoom and a f / 2.4 mixer, an 8 megapixel ultra-comprehensive camera with 120-degree lens and f / 2.4-aperture, and finally a 5-megapixel deep camera with f / 2.2 mixer. In low light, the main camera uses pixel binning to combine 4 pixels in one. On the front, the Samsung Galaxy A9 (2018) sports a 24-megapixel front camera with a f / 2.0 mixer. It has Face Unlock technology, in addition to the Bixby Assistant and Samsung Pay. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back panel.
The Galaxy A9 (2018) has 128GB of built-in storage space, expandable through microSD cards (up to 512GB). Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth v5.0, USB Type-C, NFC and 3.5mm headphone jack. Onboard sensors include accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, proximity sensor and an RGB light sensor. It is powered by a 3,800 mAh battery, complete with fast charging.
