Osnabruck. The Walking Dead has lost its leading actor: Andrew Lincoln has released Rick Grimes in season 9. What's next?
Note, follow the text in spoiler!
As expected, Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) will not die at the end of Season 9's fifth episode. The episode "Wake Up" shows that Rick breaks the bridge he carefully built to lead the zombie crew from his family. With the zombies Rick also getting injured in the river, Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) finds and rescues him, together they fly in a helicopter. Michonne, Daryl, Carol and Co. Believe that Rick has died. (You will find all information about the latest series in our thematic portal >>)
Already at the end of "Wake Up" is shown how to proceed in "The Walking Dead" without Rick. History is a leap of time, greater than ever, and we see a six-year-old Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming) who saves a group of people. Just like Rick and Carl used sheriff hat and gun.

US Channel AMC, which produces "The Walking Dead", has already posted pictures showing how the other characters have changed over time. Particularly Carol (Melissa McBride) has changed a lot, she has long gray hair instead of her short haircut.

In Season 9 of "The Walking Dead" not only Andrew Lincoln, Lauren Cohan alias Maggie Rhee leaves the series. It is still unclear in what section the audience must say goodbye, but it is already clear that Maggie does not die. This will keep the actor returning open.
But who will succeed as leader of the Hilltop team? Rumor has what Maggie does not return after section 5, meaning her departure was more secretive.

Andrew Lincoln has not said goodbye forever: Return to the series is almost eliminated when he returns to England to his family, but Rick Grimes is said to regain in at least three movies. That's what Scott Gimple, once a showrunner and producer of The Walking Dead, just announced. The movies are only expected to air on television and not be filmed in Atlanta.
It is also conceivable that Daryl, Carol, Michonne and Maggie will play in the movies or even get their own movies, reports the magazine "The Hollywood Reporter". And then there's the offshoot series "Fear the Walking Dead", which has already been playing with Lennie James (Morgan) from "The Walking Dead". Even there, the lost figures could get a new home. Will Daryl Dixon become a lonely in season 9 of "The Walking Dead"?
After the departure of Andrew Lincoln Norman Reedus, actor of Daryl Dixon, he has stated offered more money for his role. This may mean that he rises to the new leading actor. The first pictures of the new episodes show Daryl, but rather as a lonely one. Does he have what it takes to be the new leader? With Saviors he has already failed as the new head.

What's next in Season 9 of The Walking Dead?
A look at the comic book by author Robert Kirkman reveals how it could continue during the ninth season "The Walking Dead". Fans have longed for "whispers", a group of people who masked like zombies. But with the whispers, repetitions would be repeated: a new group as a threat to the survivors who must be combated. Because Whisperer has a dangerous leader, comparable to Governor (David Morrissey) and Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), and killing other people from behind.
The series is known not to orient itself to the plot from the series. So Carl is already dead in the TV series, while he has played a role in the series as a leader. Judith Grimes could now assume this role, her introduction suggests at least that she wants to save and lead people resembling Carl and Rick.
Even Rick Grimes is still in the series with his family or the survivors like Maggie and Michonne. In the series, however, he lost an early arm, which happened in the TV series interesting in Aaron (Ross Marquand). Aaron is more and more like Rick Grimes from the series, maybe he's a new leader.

With the deviation of Andrew Lincoln and Lauren Cohan, the universe is expanding "The Walking Dead", rather than reorganized: Rick and Maggie's plot is moved to movies, which has an impact on the series is still unclear. In the series itself, new characters and possibly more extensions, as actor of Michonne, Danai Gurira, are demand due to her role in the "Black Panther" series in Hollywood. Even for them there may be the possibility of a movie after their expiration. An end to the zombie series is therefore not in sight, although the values for season 9 have reached a historically low level. Even without leading actors, according to manufacturers, up to 20 seasons will continue to be possible. (Read more: Lousy effects: The fans laugh at Ricks roe in Season 7 in "The Walking Dead")
