The influenza vaccination campaign began in Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.
Citizens can now make a meeting until the end of November, to get it in the various clinics in the territory.
Many people are skeptical about the effectiveness of the flu vaccine, which is not always proven. Last year there were two flu strains, but the vaccine eventually proved ineffective for one of them.
"It is certain that the effectiveness of the vaccine is a major issue," says Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean Public Health Advisor Annick Pilote. You must persuade people to come and get it because it's the best way to protect you from the virus. "
"We would like to say that the vaccine will be completely effective this year, but it's too early. We have to wait to see what excitement will flow here," she added.
Despite the doubt in the population, the fact is that the clinics are already occupied. All available places have already been reserved for the first week of vaccination.
Influenza vaccine is always available free of charge for children 6 months to 2 years, people 60 years and older, pregnant women, chronic people and citizens living with somebody at risk.
