An official source in the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy revealed that the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company completed the drilling work in the Electrical Connection to Sudan project with a capacity of 300 MW as a first stage of 90%. It is scheduled for operation in December, which is the starting point for converting Egypt into a regional center. Through which it will be able to connect completely with Africa.
The source said in a special statement for the "seventh day" that the electric link line operation tests will be launched with Sudan at the end of this month and officially operational in mid-December, pointing to the operation of the 150 MW liner capacity instead of 300 MW according to plan.
The source explained that the capacity of the line will be divided into two parts by 150 megawatts per share due to the inability to absorb transformer stations in Sudan to absorb these possibilities once and explain the operation of the second part of the linkage capacity of 150 MW at the start of the new year.
