Egypt Ambassador to Serbia, Amr Jouili, met the new president at Belgrade University Ivanka Popovic to discuss academic cooperation with counterparts in Egypt in areas of common interest, especially Egyptology, Arab, International Relations and Middle East Studies.
Egypt's ambassador to Belgrade said Thursday that the meeting focused on the Faculty of Philosophy, especially the Archaeological Department, one of the world's best 200 archeological departments, as part of the Embassy's campaign entitled "Egyptology for All", especially the youth and childcare sectors.
He added that cooperation with the University of Belgrade will also give priority to the Department of Arabic Studies, which is joined by approximately 60 students a year, a total of 250 students in the department, which is the largest program for teaching Arabic languages and culture in the Balkans.
The Egyptian ambassador in Belgrade said the General Book Authority had invited a number of excellent academics to attend the Golden Book of the Belgrade Book Fair from January 23 to February 5, as the Arab League is honored for the exhibition's next meeting. Reason for the next edition of the Belgrade Book Fair in 2019.
The Ambassador in Egypt to Serbia said that a round table was prepared at the University of Belgrade with senior representatives of intellectual institutions with the participation of Deans from specialized social science faculties, representatives of educational institutions and intellectual institutions and a number of journalists specializing in foreign affairs to highlight Egypt's role in multilateral and regional levels.
For her part, the chairman of the Belgrade university expressed the hope of learning the Serbian language of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Egypt, as the language is almost identical in most Balkan countries, highlighting its interest in the development of academic cooperation in other special areas.
