BOGOTA, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) – Sixty automotive brands present their main charts for the car market in the 16th edition of the Bogota International Motor Show.

More than a thousand vehicles from the largest manufacturers of cars and motorcycles will be exhibited for 12 days at Corferia's fairs in the Colombian capital and among them stands out the pavilions of Chinese vehicles.

The launch of Chinese brands like Changan and Haval starred in the events at the International Exhibition.

Aspects like easy financing and convenient prices for high quality cars, designed for companies, families and individuals, are what these brands offer in this release of the fair.

Luis Fernando Ortiz, Trade Director of Changan, Colombia, talked to Xinhua about the benefits for buyers to buy a car manufactured by the first factory to export Chinese vehicles.

"Changan's brand is one of the largest in its own brand in China, with more than one million seven hundred thousand units last year, we have four research and development centers in the US, Japan, England and China itself," informed sales promoter.

"What characterizes our vehicles is the performance and equipment, all made with state-of-the-art technology, and we also focus on sustainable mobility by specifying electric cars, hybrid vehicles and atmospheric cars fed in the air as they roll," he added.

With 4 years of participation in the Colombian market and more than 58 years of manufacturing cars, Changan in Bogota launches three family cars, characterized by a versatile equipment designed for all users' needs in the world.

With this launch, the company, which has been consolidated in the corporate market, hopes to increase its interest in the Colombians in that brand by entering comfortable and efficient cars within the family segment.

Ortiz said that although the conditions on the international market for products of Chinese origin have some disadvantages, aspects such as price pricing have allowed the car market to continue to grow in the Latin American region.

"We have quite competitive prices, although we have a customs issue that hurts all brands of Chinese origin, the tariffs are full, ie 35%, when we compare vehicles in similar situations, our team is superlative" he assured

"We are really at a competitive level, we need people to feel more and that's the invitation, come and see Changan's vehicles of Chinese origin, with finish and advanced equipment," he concluded.

The vehicles in these brands have guarantees of 100,000 kilometers or five years and are supported by major marketers of auto parts, which also guarantees availability of spare parts and maintenance.

Environmental care is reflected in low-emission cars designed according to standards that guarantee low fuel consumption and higher road performance.

According to Mauricio Isaza, head of Ambacar in Colombia, a company that sells the Chinese brand Haval, the cars in this brand came to the Salón Internacional de Bogotá five stars in the Euro Ncap rating system, which guarantees a balanced interaction between the driver and the vehicle.

For Isaza, the interest in this brand for environmental care is a priority in the manufacture of various models of cars.

"Our vehicles are completely friendly to the environment, they are very low emissions vehicles, they all conform to the European standard, in fact, today we are marketing in Europe with our Haval brand," Isaza insured.

The businessman added that "Diesel technology is getting increasingly displaced, which is why we do not have vehicles with this technology. Our cars have the kick-off function that shuts off the vehicle in high traffic conditions, which reduces urban or high-density emissions."

With financial corporations advising buyers and comfortable launch prices, these companies hope to increase their presence on the Colombian market and make sure they meet all the needs of users considering their vehicles have been tested for the geographical requirements of the Andean country.

On the launch of its brand at the fair, Isaza told Xinhua that "these vehicles have parallel and parallel parking, automatic assistance on boarding and ascension, they are robust vehicles developed by the best car dealers worldwide".

Between January and July this year, a total of 4 826 Chinese cars came in Colombia, which corresponds to 4.2% of the total car market in the Andean country.

According to the car registration authorities in Colombia, between 2010 and 2017, 80 602 vehicles of Chinese origin were registered, located in the segments of cars, vans and private, special and public service tools.

For its part, the National Federation of Merchants of Colombia recently reported that 175,268 vehicles of all brands were registered between January and September 2018, which represents an increase of 2.0% compared with the same period last year.
