Nearly 1,000 families remain isolated due to snow build-up in Lonquimay



The Ministry of the Interior's National Emergency Office (Onemi) reported that in the municipality of Lonquimay, 999 families are isolated. by accumulation of snow on local roads.

The affected sectors are Icalma, Cruzaco, Quinquen, Galletue, Huallenmapu, Marimenuco, Liucura, Piedra Blanca, Tralilhue, Lolen and Mitrauquén.

At the same time, the municipality presents Curacautín High vulnerability due to accumulation of snow on Route CH-181, which has caused vehicle accidents of different considerations, in addition to isolation of the population in high sectors.

Also in Nueva Imperial and Carahue remain isolated families due to the increase of flow rivers. In the municipalities of Saavedra and Toltén, mass extension events have been recorded.

After these, Araucania's intensity updated and modified the coverage of the yellow warning for the municipalities Lonquimay, Curacautín, Nueva Imperial, Carahue, Saavedra and Toltén, at the frontal system, which has been in force since June 27, 2019.
