Weather Network – PICTURES: Blue skies, powerful winds flow through Ontario

Saturday May 25, 2019, 21:48 – A cold front triggered a series of serious thunderstorms in Ontario Saturday afternoon and evening

Heavy thunderstorms shot up over southern, northeastern, and eastern Ontario Saturday afternoon and evening. Residents took to social media to send photos and videos of the active weather.

The storm was triggered as a cold front which was hit by the provinces of the southern, northeastern and eastern provinces, which promptly led to reports of falls, floods, lightning, hail and strong winds (including a micro burst).

It even resulted in a short tornado warning for Little Abitibi-Kesagami Lake in northeastern Ontario Saturday night. Canada's environment lost it at 7:22 pm

The storms have since moved and sunshine returns to Ontario on Sunday. The latest on Ontario forecast is here.

Pictures and videos of Saturday's storms can be found below.
