HM MacMillan Space Center hosts an epic watching party for one of the biggest celestial events in 2019.
The center is open late for the total moon eclipse, and offers a special show in Planetarium's star theater. They encourage visitors to learn more about the moon and the eclipses and will have the observatory open so guests can check the moon through a telescope. In addition, the next total lunar eclipse will not take place until 2021, making the event very special.
If it's a rainy night, however, the center will provide a live flow of eclipse in Planetarium's star theater.
The observatory is open from 6:30 to 10:30, but there will be a Planetarium Star Theater Show from 7:00 to 8:00. Of course, the total eclipse is between 8:41 and 9:43, so you have time to watch the show in the planetarium and visit the rest of the observatory.
