A 30-year-old man was shot and killed late Friday afternoon in what appears to be a targeted attack in a residential area of Prince George.

Prince George RCMP asks the public for help to identify the guilty person responsible for the shot in the 700-block Johnson Street, at about 5 p.m. Friday. Several shots were reported and the police found the man outside a home suffering from what appeared to be a sore wound. He was transported to hospital and died shortly thereafter.

No suspects were found and since it was likely a targeted attack, the public was not considered to be in danger. The RCMP's serious crime unit was called for the investigation.

"This guy is famous for us," said Cpl. Craig Douglass, Prince George RCMP Media Responsible Officer. "It is clear to the RCMP that this is directed. It was very specific. There is no one who accidentally pushes into a crowd." We can not jump to drug trafficking yet, but we are convinced that it was directed. "

According to Douglass, it is the city's second confirmed assassination by 2018.

Anyone who witnessed the shot or may have outdoor surveillance of the scene is strongly advised to contact Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300.
