Health managers warn of possible measles exposure at Carrefour Laval – Montreal



Health managers in Quebec warn of possible measles exposure at the Carrefour Laval mall last week.

They say that a person who was contagious with the virus visited a cafe and common areas in the mall north of Montreal last Wednesday, June 26.

Health managers recommend that persons at risk for complications that may have come into contact with the virus should be evaluated in order to possibly get a preventive shot.

That list contains children under one year, those with weakened immune systems and pregnant women who have not received all their measles vaccines.

Other people who may have been exposed need not take immediate action, but they should be alert for the next three weeks for any symptoms of measles, including high fever followed by red marks on the body.

Fairs is a serious and contagious disease that can spread through sneezing and coughing and can lead to serious complications such as pneumonia.
