Ford moved to Kanata and said renting as many as 300, according to developers

Ford Motor Co. will move into a 40,000 square meter facility at 800 Palladium Dr. as early as 2020, according to the building's developer.

The company has dropped into the national capital talent for self-driving cars. Ford has worked hand in hand with Blackberry Ltd. subsidiary QNX on automotive and automobile software since at least 2014. The two companies had an official agreement with the 2016 retail agreement.

The car giant will rent the space from the real estate company Cominar, which owns five floors, 100,000 square meters of building. The developer leaked the news about Ford's intentions on Wednesday saying that Ford plans to create as many as 300 new specialist technology jobs as a result of the new offices.

The new space will be added to a business park nestled behind the western most car park at the Canadian tire center, at the junction of Cyclone Taylor Boulevard and Palladium Drive.
