Xiaomi and what is the company’s sales forecast for 2021

2020 became one of the most successful in Xiaomi’s history, as the company managed to replace Apple during the third quarter of the year and become the third largest manufacturer of smartphones in the world.

Xiaomi, Apple, Samsung, Huawei and how the smartphone market was distributed during the third quarter of 2020.

Xiaomi is ahead of Apple in smartphones

Samsung is on top again

The combination of pandemic conditions, a collapse in Huawei’s sales and Apple’s delayed flagship were the main reasons for the Chinese company’s remarkable progress.

Judging by a recent report from the Nikkei Asian Review, the company is looking boldly at the first place that currently belongs to Samsung and will do everything to reach it in 2021.

Sources close to the company reveal that Xiaomi is considering ordering components for up to 240 million smartphones by 2021, which is almost twice as much as sales that the brand realized in 2019.

According to some sources, component orders are for the production of up to 300 million units, which is two million more than all units sold by Samsung in 2019.

However, Nikkei reports that Xiaomi’s partners Qualcomm and MediaTek are unlikely to be able to supply such a large number of components. Another problem may be the pandemic supply, which affects a number of industries.

However, it is possible that the difference in Xioami’s plans and capabilities for Qualcomm and MediaTek will be filled by Samsung and its Exynos chips.

If Xiaomi still manages to reach its lower target of 240 million units, analysts predict that the company will have a solid lead over Apple and will sit comfortably in third place.
