A man named Enamul Haque Ana (42) was killed in a war with detective police (DB) at Nishchintapur in Meherpur Sadar upazila. Gunfight took place around 2:30 am on Monday at Nishchintpur Battalola crossing the district.
The deceased was identified as Enamul Haque, son of late Toaj Ali in Shyampur town under the upazila.
At the same time, the police claimed that Enamul Haque, the chief drug trafficker and terrorist in the area, was killed. There are 8 cases including murder against drew him.
The DB police said three members were injured in the incident. They are – ASI Ibrahim, Constable Sohag Mia and Masud Hasan. They received primary treatment at the hospital. The police also said they had saved a shooter and 63 bottles of Phensidyl from the site.
DB police official OC Obaidur Rahman said Sunday evening, on the basis of secret information, a group of drug dealers took position at Nishchintpur Battala crossing of saddle upazila. When a team of DB reached the stage, drug dealers continued to push their goals. At one point the DB police fought against the self-defense. Within 10 minutes the firing took place. After the drug dealers were dispersed, the drug trafficking and terrorist Enamul Haque Ena were rescued from the site and arrived at the Meherpur General Hospital. After taking him to the hospital, the medical practitioner declared him dead.
He said that his body was held in the hospital morning for autopsy. He has eight cases including murder, drug and three cases along with Meherpur Sadar Police Station.
