ÖFB women lose 3-0 to England

Ma. Enzersdorf. Austria's female football team has completed the International Match Year 2018 with a defeat. The ÖFB election was defeated on Thursday in a World England Third World Test at the BSFZ Arena in Maria Enzersdorf scored 0: 3 (0: 1). The English women were again a number too big for Nina Burger and Co., they also decided for the sixth direct duel for themselves.

England team manager Phil Neville had used the game to give a chance to many other tier players. Two of them immediately took my stage of their debut appearance in the "Lionesses" dress: 26-year-old Chioma Ubogagu gave England the lead in the 26th minute, while only 19-year-old Georgia Stanway made it 2-0 in 72 minutes. The finish was 26-year-old Rachel Daly (81).

Offensively barely visible

The ÖFB squad was offensive to see only 1,000 spectators with the exception of a barring shot by Nicole Billa (16). Made by team leader Dominik Thalhammer, defeated last October 6th in Essen Germany 1: 3, the season closed with a slightly negative balance: four wins are five defeats. Two matches ended in a year where the World Cup ticket was missed, with a draw.

"We want to introduce ourselves in a completely different light than Germany," Thalhammer had hoped before the match. His players disturbed the guests early and pressed vigorously at the beginning. The first chance came from England, but Toni Duggan scored from 20 meters (9). The ÖFB election was closer to the lead at the moment, goalkeeper Mary Earps managed to ward off a 20-meter Billa left foot only with difficulty in the bar.

A hit was in the air

With the continuation of the first half of the favorite but got better in the game and the offensive could also be increasingly staged. A shot from Stanway went right outside (20). In a Duggan conclusion in the penalty area, ÖFB goalkeeper Manuela Zinsberger was distinguished (21). Five minutes later, Bavaria legionary but had to get behind. Carina Wenninger, who appeared for the 45th consecutive row in the starting line-up, did not take the ball into the penalty area and Ubogagu had no trouble shooting away from Duggan passing.

After a reboot, the game ripped a little before recovering after an hour. A termination of replacement Barbara Dunst was too weak (63). The second goal in England was quite in the air. Nikita Parris was unlucky in a pole header (66 & # 39;). Her teammates put more hits after. After Parri's preparatory Stanway met forcefully in the corner. Before the third goal, Zinsberger and Wenninger could still save on Chloe Kellys finals, but the Stanway margin led by Daly ended up in the net.

Disastrous goal difference against England

The Austrians, without their three injured, support Viktoria Schnaderbeck, Lisa Makas and Katharina Schiechtl, lost in the second Test against World Cup participants after 2017 in Milton Keynes with 0: 3 the short straw. Previously, there were four clear defeats in qualifying for the 2007 and 2011 World Cup tournaments. The goal difference of 1:21 against England speaks volumes.
