Rocket launch from Vandenberg AFB is screwed due to large winds

Tuesday launch of a Delta IV Heavy rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base has been screwed due to United Launch Alliance wind farms (ULA).

The next attempt to launch is scheduled for Wednesday, 19 December at 5:44

ULA officials say there is an 80 percent chance of favorable weather conditions for Wednesday launch.

The rocket will deliver a satellite to the National Reconnaissance Office in orbit.

This is the latest in several delays for the rocket. It was originally planned to go up on December 7 but technical problems forced officials to scrub the launch that night and again the following night.
