Dominicana: Bankers in Latin America for closer relations
Havana, November 11 (RHC) The Annual General Meeting of the Latin American Federation of Banks (Felaban) was initiated today in the Dominican province of La Altagracia. It will be extended to 14 November with the presence of 1,600 banks from 40 countries.
The event has scheduled keynote addresses of Governor of Dominican Central Bank, Héctor Valdez and Bank Superintendent Luis Armando Asunción Álvarez, who analyzes the perspective of the Dominican economy and the monitoring of the financial system.
According to the organizers, representatives of the Brazilian Federation of Bananas, the World Bank, the International Finance Corporation, the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, the Financial Action Group of Latin America and the International Finance Institute will also lecture.
Among the topics analyzed are: The economic and financial perspective of the Region for 2019, the regulatory challenges of the bank after the culmination after 10 years of study of the new Basel III regulations, cyber security and the development of digital banking
At the end of the conciliation, the new Felaban president will be announced after José López's two-year period, and details of the venue for the 2019 Assembly will be announced.
