A shocking report warns of the serious risk of the consumption of red meat

A group of specialists warned of a new study carried out on the risks of red meat consumption.


Argentina is one of the countries most consumed meat RED. It's actually the most important type of meat as we argentine choose when consuming animal protein. But now, a group of researchers warned about the dangers this could generate.

The study was presented by specialists from the Lerner Research Institute, belonging to the clinic in Cleveland, USA. It was concluded that the redundant intake of red meat could have serious consequences.

Experts reported that the high consumption of this type of meat causes the increase of the chemical substance N-oxide trimethylamine (TMAO) in the blood, and this is directly related to cardiovascular disease.

This substance, called TMAO, is formed during intake, through intestinal bacteria, and is derived largely from the nutrients found in raw meat. The conclusion was achieved by a clinical trial conducted on 113 people, both healthy men and women, and examined the effects of this type of meat.

They determined that people who often consume red meat have TMAO levels three times higher than those with a diet rich in white meat or proteins of vegetable origin. The good thing about this is that the levels of the substance decrease significantly when this type of diet is abandoned.
